Foster Carers Needed in Staffordshire

Staffordshire County Council is actively seeking foster carers to care for children and babies aged 0 to 18 years across the county.

Foster for Staffordshire and you’ll get all the training and support you need so you can concentrate on caring for the children.

With over 1,200 children in care there is an urgent need for more families to foster.

There are lots of reasons to foster for Staffordshire County Council.

You will have your own dedicated Fostering social worker and an experienced foster carer as a mentor.  They also offer

competitive payments, local support groups, 24/7 out of hours support and regular events for you, your foster child, and your own birth children.

Who can foster?

The simple answer is most people. Anyone over the age of 21 can foster, you can be single or in a relationship. You don’t have to own your own home you can live in rented accommodation too. You do need a spare bedroom but whether you have had children or not we can support you and offer training and development to help you care for the children. There is no such thing as a typical foster carer, we need people from all sorts of different backgrounds to care for the children.

There is always a greater need for families who have more than one bedroom who can foster sibling groups of 2 or 3 children and for foster carers for older teenagers.
