Stafford Sports

and Performance Academy


March, 2014 saw the establishement of the Stafford Sports and Performance Academy.


  Steve Glover, Director, formed the company after many years playing, coaching and working in community and school sport.


  Glover's creditentials include:


  • Qualified Teacher Status

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

  • UEFA B Licensed Football Coach

  • Former Stoke City FC Academy Coach

  • Level 2 Badminton Coach

  • Former University of Detroit soccer player

  • Former British Schools 800m champion

  • Fomer England Schools Football winner (Millfield School)

  • London 2012 Olympic Torchbearer


Glover formed Stafford Sports and Performance Academy after an successful period working for both the Northern Warwickshire School Sport Partnership and Stafford and Stone School Sport Partnership.


Steve also spent two years as School Games Organiser for the South Stoke area based at Trentham High School.


Inspired by the 2012 Olympic Games, the mission of the company is to provide many opportunities in school and community sport for young people in the Stafford and Stone district.


Joining Glover in the Stafford Sports and Performance Academy team are many top, local coaches and teachers. 

Outside of community sport Steve has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, completed the National 3 Peaks under 24 hours and Yorkshire 3 Peaks in under 10 hours. Steve's next challenge is Everest Base Camp in April 2021 to raise funds for Katharine House Hospice in Stafford. 


(The organisation is a private enterprise not affiliated to any one school. It has excellent working relationships with many schools not only in Stafford and Stone but also across the whole of Staffordshire).
